2028 Election: Mahama’s record to secure NDC victory – Tanko

Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sofo Rashid Tanko, has expressed confidence in the party’s prospects for the 2028 general elections, citing President John Dramani Mahama’s performance and governance record as key factors that will secure victory.

Speaking on the Upside Down show on Sunday, November 23, Tanko said President Mahama’s performance since taking office has reinforced the NDC’s belief that Ghanaians will renew the party’s mandate after 2028.

According to him, the strategy that delivered the NDC’s win in the 2024 elections is reflected in the President’s approach to governance, strengthening the party’s appeal nationwide.

“The strategy we put together and won the 2024 election, President Mahama is living it. His records and other things will help us to win the 2028 election, regardless of who we are bringing,” he stated.

Rashid Tanko emphasised that the party’s primary focus is on ensuring full implementation of its manifesto commitments, highlighting the NDC’s dedication to delivering policies that improve citizens’ lives.

“Currently, what we are much interested in is the implementation of the manifesto, and he is living it. The most important thing for us as a party is to make sure, we implement the policies and make sure Ghanaians are happy with what we are doing.

“Whoever we are bringing is immaterial, we will win. The records will show. The NPP should forget about the 2028 election,” he declared.
