Mahama to launch “Big Push” programme today

President John Dramani Mahama will today, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, officially launch his government’s flagship infrastructure development initiative, the Big Push programme, at Afienya in the Greater Accra Region.

The Big Push forms a central pillar of President Mahama’s long-term vision to modernise Ghana’s infrastructure, beginning with the road sector.

The launch, scheduled for noon, will include a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Dawhenya–Afienya–Dodowa road, a major project aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in the area.

According to government, the programme is intended to deliver transformative projects that will not only stimulate economic growth but also improve the quality of life for Ghanaians nationwide.
