Dr Mohammed Amin Adam inaugurates a block of twelve classrooms for his former school
Former Finance Minister and Karaga MP, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, inaugurated a newly built classroom block with 12 units at his former school, Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco), on Monday.
This initiative, which started late last year in response to a request from the headmaster, aims to enhance the educational experience by reducing overcrowding and fostering a better learning atmosphere.
During the event, Dr Amin Adam remarked that this contribution was his way of giving back to the school that played a crucial role in his early life. He encouraged students to honor the school’s legacy by dedicating themselves to their studies and steering clear of misconduct.
“Contribute to Tamasco in the same way it has contributed to you. You can achieve this by maintaining the school’s esteemed reputation through your academic success,” he stated.
Dr Amin Adam also warned students about the dangers of drug and substance misuse, emphasizing that “drugs can lead to rapid destruction. ” He encouraged them to concentrate on their goals and create a future that would bring pride to both their families and the school.
Assistant Headmaster Abukari Yakubu, who accepted the keys to the new single-story building, praised the former Finance Minister for his timely contribution. He pointed out that the institution has been facing challenges with infrastructure due to an increase in student numbers, making the new classroom block a significant relief.
He also reflected on the project’s inception, admitting he had doubts about whether the promise would be fulfilled, particularly after the former minister’s party lost power. He praised Dr Amin Adam for his integrity and dedication to honoring his commitments.
Several students who spoke during the inauguration expressed their appreciation to the MP, stating that this development would significantly enhance their learning conditions. They also hoped that other graduates and generous individuals would follow his lead.
