Anthony Joshua to fight Jake Paul in Heavyweight showdown
Twice-crowned British World Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua, is scheduled to compete against Jake Paul on December 19, 2025, in a highly anticipated match.
The matchup was officially announced on Monday, November 17, 2025, by Most Valuable Promotions along with Netflix, and it is set to occur in Miami, USA.
This will be an eight-round fight consisting of three-minute intervals and utilizing 10-ounce gloves.
This marks Anthony Joshua’s first challenge since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, while Jake Paul achieved a unanimous decision win over veteran boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr earlier in 2025.
In remarks made prior to the fight, Paul stated that defeating Joshua would enable him to pursue world championship bouts and enhance his reputation.
“A professional heavyweight clash with a leading champion in his prime. If I triumph over Anthony Joshua, all skepticism will fade away, and no one will be able to stop me from contending for a world title. For all my critics, this is what you’ve been waiting for,” Jake expressed, as reported by Sky Sports News.
Joshua, who is a two-time heavyweight titleholder, indicated that this match provides him an opportunity to recover from past losses and revitalize his career.
“Anyone, including Jake, can face me. No leniency. After some time off, I’m returning with a spectacular event. This is a significant chance for me. Regardless of your opinions, I’m here to create remarkable achievements, engage in major fights, and set new records while remaining composed and focused.
“Take note, you’ll see many more fighters seizing these kinds of opportunities down the line. I’m ready to spark a frenzy over Jake Paul,” he remarked.
