Ralph Williams slapped with GH¢7m defamation suit by Ridge Hospital nurse
Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, a nurse at Ridge Hospital, has filed a GH¢7 million lawsuit against Ralph Saint Williams for allegedly assaulting her during a violent incident on August 17, 2025.
She has sued Ralph Saint Williams, accusing him of alleged physical assault and defamation.
According to a Writ of Summons filed at the High Court in Accra on August 20, 2025 and sighted by Citi News on August 22, Bortei is seeking GH¢2 million for defamation.
The statement of claim alleges that Williams physically assaulted Bortei, causing injuries including a dislocated shoulder and a hand injury, which have affected her professional duties.
In addition, the plaintiff claims Williams made defamatory statements publicly, calling her a “liar” and accusing her of fabricating her injuries.
“Liar, wo se wo nsam abu. Duabɔ bebam. You say you have suffered an injured hand and a dislocated shoulder. This is cooked up to cover the nonsense going on at the hospital.”
Lawyers for the nurse indicated that the statements made by Ralph Saint Williams have damaged her reputation, subjected her to public ridicule, and undermined her credibility as a nurse.
The nurse is seeking a public apology and retraction of the defamatory statements in the same medium and with equal prominence.
A perpetual injunction preventing Williams from making further defamatory remarks.
A 50-meter restraining order against Williams. Legal costs and any other reliefs deemed appropriate by the court.
The defendant has been ordered to enter an appearance within eight days of service or face a default judgment.
