2026 WCQ: Otto Addo names Black Stars squad for Chad and Mali

Ghana’s national team coach Otto Addo has announced his roster for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Chad and Mali in the following month.

The squad features well-known players like Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Antoine Semenyo, and Inaki Williams.

Derrick Arthur Kohn, a defender from Union Berlin, receives his first call-up, and Atalanta’s winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is also included. Midfielder Elisha Owusu is back with the team after a significant injury recovery period.

Promising player Caleb Yirenkyi secures a spot in the team due to his impressive play with the Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and notable performances at the Unity Cup in London.

Defender Tariq Lamptey returns to the lineup, joined by Christopher Bonsu Baah and Joseph Anang, a goalkeeper from Ireland, for the two matches.

The Black Stars will kick off their journey against Chad away at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4, then face Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.

Ghana is currently at the top of Group I after completing six matches and aims to increase their lead as they strive for a fifth World Cup appearance.
