Numerous businesses have been destroyed by fire following a catastrophic blaze that erupted in the Anomangye Market, located in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
According to witnesses, the fire ignited at approximately 10:30 p.m. from a shop selling charcoal and quickly spread to neighboring establishments.
In a matter of hours, many shops were consumed by flames, with vendors facing the loss of various items, such as car spare parts and food supplies.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived promptly and continue to work to control the situation.
Their primary goal is to contain the fire and prevent it from affecting other areas of the market.
