Agyapong breaks silence after absconding with his boss’ money

Agyapong, the young Ghanaian sales boy who went viral after using his boss’ business capital to finance his trip to Canada, has broken his silence for the first time.
In a video recorded at the airport shortly before his departure, Agyapong pleaded with his boss and others whose funds he diverted to support his travel plans.
According to him, his actions were deliberate. He explained that he intentionally used the money entrusted to him because he believed that if he had openly requested support for his travel ambitions, none of them would have offered help.
“If I had asked them genuinely, they wouldn’t have helped me,” he said in the video, adding that he saw traveling abroad as his only way to secure a better future.
Despite the backlash surrounding his actions, Agyapong assured his boss and all affected individuals that he intends to repay every cedi once he settles abroad.
His comments have ignited fresh debate online, with some condemning his actions as dishonest and criminal, while others argue that his desperation reflects the harsh economic realities forcing many young Ghanaians to seek greener pastures abroad through any means possible.
