Ashanti Region: 16 feared dead in Ambulance–Ford collision at Potrikrom

A devastating road accident at Potrikrom in the Ahafo-Ano South East District of the Ashanti Region has left at least 16 people dead following a head-on collision between an ambulance and a Ford Transit bus.

The vehicles involved were an ambulance with registration number GV 527–23 and a Ford Transit bus with registration number GT 6576–19.

Eyewitnesses say the crash occurred as the two vehicles, reportedly travelling at high speed, approached each other from opposite directions. The Ford Transit bus is believed to have been travelling from Kumasi to Bechem at the time.
