Bawumia Leads Kennedy Agyapong In Assin Central According To Mussa Dankwah Latest Polls
A new poll conducted by Mussa Dankwah’s Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most preferred candidate among New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in Assin Central constitency in the Central Region for the 2028 presidential elections.
The poll results were shared by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mr. Mussa Dankwah, on his Facebook page on Wednesday, 16th July, 2025.
The poll focused on various constituencies in the Central Region, including Mfantseman, Ekumfi, Upper Denkyira West, Cape Coast North, Agona East, Agona West, and Assin Central.
What has shocked many people is the result from Assin Central, which is the hometown of Kennedy Agyapong, a former Member of Parliament for the area. Despite his strong influence in the area, the poll shows that former Vice President Bawumia is far ahead of him in popularity.
In Assin Central, Dr. Bawumia received a massive 68.5% support from the respondents. Kennedy Agyapong, surprisingly, scored 30.1% in his own constituency. Other candidates such as Patric Boamah and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum received 0.0% and 1.4% respectively.
The story is similar across most of the constituencies. In Mfantseman, Bawumia had 48.8%, while Kennedy Agyapong had 40.9%. In Ekumfi, Kennedy Agyapong slightly led with 51.0%, while Bawumia followed closely with 49.0%. In Cape Coast North, Bawumia scored 56.2%. The poll clearly shows that Bawumia remains the top choice among party supporters in the region.
This result may influence the internal race as the NPP prepares for the next general election. Even though Kennedy Agyapong had a strong showing in the 2024 primaries, this poll suggests that his popularity in his home base may be dropping.
The poll included other names such as Dr. Yaw Adutwum, Bryan Acheampong, Peter Amewu, Abena Osei Asare, and Kwabena Agyapong, but most of them scored very low percentages in all the constituencies.
