Akosua Manu, special aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised her boss as the most prepared and proven leader to steer the New Patriotic Party (NPP) back to power in 2028, describing him as a man who has been “tested, proven, and prepared to deliver.”
In a Facebook post, Akosua Manu reflected on Dr. Bawumia’s political and personal journey, arguing that his resilience, integrity, and innovation over the years have set him apart as the standard-bearer of purposeful leadership within the NPP and Ghana at large.
She said Dr. Bawumia’s life and career embody what she called “divine quality control— a process through which time, trials, and truth separate true leaders from pretenders.”
According to her, every era presents a refining moment, and those who emerge stronger through that process are destined to lead.
“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been through that sacred furnace,” she wrote. “He has been tested — by time, by trials, by tongues of critics, and by the weight of leadership. Yet, he stands—unbroken, unbent, unbought.”
The former Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA) described Dr. Bawumia as a leader who has faced challenges head-on, turned obstacles into opportunities, and consistently demonstrated vision anchored in service.
She credited Bawumia with championing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, which has modernised systems across public institutions and enhanced transparency and efficiency in governance.
“When others sought power for pride, he sought it for purpose. When others spoke to be heard, he spoke to be understood. When others complained about Ghana’s challenges, he devised solutions,” she stated.
She urged delegates of the NPP to reflect deeply as they prepare to select a flagbearer on January 31, 2026, emphasising that the task before them transcends slogans or sentiments.
“The 2028 mission will not be about who shouts the loudest; it will be about who has been prepared, refined, and approved by both time and truth. That man is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia — a man of intellect, humility, faith, and focus,” she wrote.
Akosua Manu’s post comes amid heightened political activity within the NPP, as several aspirants intensify campaigns for the party’s flagbearer position.
Her remarks add to the growing momentum around Dr. Bawumia’s leadership narrative, positioning him as a tested and trusted choice for the next electoral cycle.
She concluded her message with a rallying call to party members and citizens alike to recognise the significance of the moment and support a leader who embodies discipline, depth, and dedication to national service.
“The destiny of Ghana deserves nothing less than a leader who has been tested, proven, and prepared to deliver,” she said.
