Who was Diogo Jota’s brother, and what team did he play for?
Andre Silva, the sibling of Diogo Jota, who sadly lost his life in a car accident along with the Liverpool player, was building his football career before their untimely deaths. The tragic event took place in the Zamora province of Spain, resulting in the loss of 28-year-old Jota and his 26-year-old brother, Andre, leaving the football community in sorrow.
Although Diogo’s accomplishments, such as his crucial contribution to Liverpool’s latest Premier League victory, are widely recognised, Andre’s successes are also significant. In 2023, he joined the Portuguese second division team FC Penafiel as an attacking midfielder after his time with Gondomar.
For his career, he also played for Boavista and the under-23 team of FC Famalicao. At the highest level, Andre made 102 appearances and netted 17 goals, primarily playing in an attacking role. His contributions this season were vital as he scored two goals and assisted five times in 32 matches, aiding his team in achieving an 11th-place finish.
