Dr Opoku Prempeh hosts UNFPA YoLe Cohort 4

The Presidential Running Mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment as he hosted a delegation from the UNFPA Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Cohort 4 on Wednesday.

The meeting, described by Dr Opoku Prempeh as a “reflective conversation”, focused on the fellows’ personal and leadership journeys since his last engagement with them during a visit to the Orange Loft in March 2023.

Dr Opoku Prempeh expressed gratitude for the courtesy call and commended the young leaders for their dedication to learning, growth, and service. He urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to using the knowledge and exposure gained from the YoLe Fellowship to contribute meaningfully to national development.

“I offered them a few words of encouragement, trusting that the training and exposure YoLe provides will shape them into the leaders our nation needs,” he said.

He emphasised that youth development remains a central passion in his public life, noting that he cherishes every platform that enables him to interact directly with young people.

“I value every opportunity to listen to young people, understand their aspirations, and explore their perspectives on the issues confronting our society,” he added.

The YoLe Fellowship, an initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), continues to nurture young leaders through mentorship, hands-on projects, and advocacy training. The Cohort 4 fellows briefed Dr Opoku Prempeh on their experiences, accomplishments, and ongoing contributions to community development.

Dr Opoku Prempeh reaffirmed his belief that the future of Ghana rests in the hands of empowered youth who are equipped with the right values, skills, and mindset.

The meeting concluded with renewed optimism as both parties shared a common vision: a Ghana where young people take the lead in shaping sustainable solutions for national progress.
