
Gospel artist Empress Gifty achieved a preliminary legal win when the Tema High Court dismissed Nana Agradaa’s request to invalidate her defamation suit for GH₵ 20 million.
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, the court determined that Agradaa’s request was not valid and mandated her to pay Gifty GH₵ 6,000 in legal fees.
Empress Gifty took legal action against Nana Agradaa due to assertions that she engaged in several extramarital relations to support her extravagant way of living.
As reported by yen.com.gh, Empress Gifty achieved a preliminary success in her legal dispute against televangelist Nana Agradaa after the court rejected Agradaa’s motion to dismiss the case.
During a session on Thursday, June 26, 2025, the Tema High Court concluded that the dismissal request held no weight and indicated that Agradaa must address the case.
Additionally, she was instructed to compensate Gifty with GH₵ 6,000 in costs.
Empress Gifty initiated a defamation lawsuit for GH₵ 20 million due to various accusations made against her by the founder of the Heaven Way Chapel.
At their initial court appearance on June 11, Agradaa’s attorneys made a request to dismiss the case.
The judge postponed the hearing until June 26 to decide on the motion.
With the request for dismissal resolved, the main court proceedings are scheduled to continue in the coming weeks.

The Tema High Court has dismissed an application by Evangelist Mama Pat aimed at striking out a defamation lawsuit brought against her by Empress Gifty.
The court also ordered Mama Pat to pay GH¢6,000 as compensation for delays caused by her legal team.
