SML sues OSP over alleged unlawful seizure of equipment

Strategic Mobilization Ghana Limited (SML) has filed a lawsuit against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), accusing it of unlawfully confiscating its servers and equipment during a recent raid on its premises.
In the suit filed at the High Court in Accra, SML claims that the OSP’s actions led to the “immediate collapse” of its nationwide petroleum and minerals monitoring system, which the company says plays a vital role in tracking revenue for the state.
“The arbitrary seizure of our servers has crippled our operations and jeopardized national monitoring data,” the company stated in its writ, describing the OSP’s conduct as a violation of its rights and business integrity.
SML is asking the court to order the immediate return of its confiscated equipment and to declare the OSP’s actions illegal. The company is also seeking damages for the disruption caused to its operations and reputation.
