Fuse ODG collaborates with Kofi Kinaata on his latest track titled ‘Somebody’

Ghanaian-British Afrobeat artist Fuse ODG has just released “Somebody,” a vibrant collaboration featuring the acclaimed Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata. This track is included in Fuse’s recent album, Spirit of New Africa, which officially launched on June 20, 2025. The album consists of 12 songs and has a total duration of 35 minutes and 59 seconds, distributed through Off Da Ground Records.

“Somebody” occupies the ninth slot in the album and was created with the production skills of Killbeatz. The song has a runtime of 3 minutes and 1 second and offers a captivating mix of Afrobeat and highlife elements. Fuse ODG’s emotive singing pairs perfectly with Kinaata’s distinctive Fante-style lyrical expression. Their collaboration produces an engaging sound that is both catchy and steeped in cultural resonance.

Fuse ODG, whose real name is Nana Richard Abiona, continues to leverage his music as a means of advocating for African identity and solidarity. His “Spirit of New Africa” initiative transcends music; it’s a campaign aimed at altering how the world views Africa. As the album’s release approached, Fuse released several promotional tracks, including “Sundiata” in collaboration with Suli Breaks. He has been actively showcasing the project on his social media accounts, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter), engaging with fans from around the world.

Kofi Kinaata, born Martin King Arthur, is acclaimed as Ghana’s “Fante Rap God.” He is celebrated for his profound lyrics, motivational themes, and inventive wordplay. In 2024, Kinaata put out his first EP titled Kofi OO Kofi, which included songs like “Effiakuma Broken Heart,” “Overthinking,” and “Auntie Ama.” Beyond his music career, Kinaata has undertaken ambassadorial positions with organizations like Enterprise Life and the International Organization for Migration. He was also recently recognized by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his impact on Ghanaian music and culture.

The album Spirit of New Africa is currently gaining popularity across prominent streaming services in Ghana and elsewhere. Fuse ODG is anticipated to announce a set of live performances and music videos to support this project. Meanwhile, Kofi Kinaata is expected to release additional singles and perhaps a full-length album following his EP.
