Ghana only country in Africa with unique interoperable payment system – Ofosu Ampofo

The Special Advisor on Policy at the Office of the Vice President, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has lauded Ghana’s interoperable payment system, which enables seamless transactions between banks and mobile money accounts.

Speaking on GTV Breakfast Show on Tuesday, August 26, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo highlighted that Ghana is the only country in Africa with such an instant cross-payment system.

He noted that the platform has significantly impacted the country’s financial sector while expanding financial inclusion.

“Ghana is the only African country with fully interoperable instant payment systems, a unique achievement that has fuelled mobile money adoption, expanded e-commerce and promoted financial inclusion,” he stated.
