Heavy Rainfalls And Thunderstorms Expected In These Areas-Meteorological Agency Warns

Ghana’s weather pattern today follows a familiar but dynamic trajectory, offering a blend of calm morning conditions and potentially wet, stormy spells as the day progresses.
According to the Ghana Meteorological Agency, the early morning will be marked by mist or fog patches, particularly over coastal zones, forested belts, and mountainous areas. These early-day atmospheric conditions are expected to reduce visibility significantly, especially for motorists and early commuters. The public is advised to exercise caution during the morning hours when traveling through affected regions, especially around the Eastern, Western, Central, and parts of the Volta Region where such fog occurrences are common.
As the morning gives way to noon, widespread sunny conditions are expected to take over, bringing with them a warmer and brighter ambiance across the country. However, these clear skies may not last long in all areas. The Meteorological Agency forecasts localized thunderstorms or rain over the coastal and some inland areas during the afternoon and into the evening hours. Such occurrences may bring brief disruptions, including gusty winds, especially around parts of the Greater Accra, Central, and Ashanti regions.
In contrast, the northern parts of Ghana will experience a relatively stable weather outlook, characterized by fairly dry conditions and a touch of haze. These hazy conditions, while mild, may contribute to slightly reduced air quality and visibility, so residents are advised to stay hydrated and protect their eyes and lungs where possible.
One notable advisory for residents in the Upper East and Upper West regions is the expectation of cooler night temperatures. This dip in temperature could bring a brief relief from the otherwise warm conditions during the day. Citizens, especially the elderly and children, are encouraged to keep warm during the night.
Today’s forecast is a reminder of Ghana’s diverse climate from misty highlands to hazy plains and coastal thunderstorms urging all to stay informed and weather-aware.
