Heavy Rains And Thunderstorms Expected In These Areas Meteorological Agency Cautions

Ghanaians can expect another day of shifting weather conditions as the Ghana Meteorological Agency reports a mixed forecast that spans from foggy early mornings to sunny afternoons and potential evening showers.

The day begins with misty or foggy conditions, primarily affecting coastal areas, forest zones, and hilly terrains. These early morning fog patches are expected to significantly reduce visibility, making travel by road or air potentially risky. Motorists, especially those commuting in the early hours, are urged to exercise caution, use headlights, and avoid high speeds to ensure safety on the roads.

As the morning progresses into midday, these foggy conditions are expected to give way to predominantly sunny skies across most parts of the country.

Residents in both urban and rural areas can look forward to dry, bright weather that will aid in carrying out daily tasks, farming, construction, and business activities with little interruption.

However, the northern half of Ghana will experience slightly hazy and dry weather conditions, which are characteristic of the season and could be a sign of increasing harmattan influence. These conditions may lead to dry skin and respiratory irritation for some individuals, making it advisable to stay hydrated and take appropriate health precautions.

Moving into the latter part of the day, especially from mid-afternoon into the evening hours, the forecast indicates the likelihood of thundery showers over a few specific regions. Areas along the west coast, some inland coastal areas, the middle belt, and the transition zone may experience short bursts of rain or isolated thunderstorms. These showers may bring temporary relief from the daytime heat and refresh the atmosphere.

Finally, the upper regions should prepare for relatively cool night temperatures, offering a more comfortable environment for rest. In all, today’s weather calls for flexibility, caution in the morning, productivity in the afternoon, and preparation for possible showers later in the day.
