I Will Jail Abronye Spiritually – Duncan-Williams

In a fiery sermon that sent shockwaves through both the pulpit and the political arena, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has broken his silence on recent verbal attacks allegedly launched by Bono Regional NPP Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye. The respected man of God, speaking during Sunday service at Action Chapel International, issued a stern warning to the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, demanding swift action, or face divine consequences.

According to the archbishop, Abronye’s recent public outbursts branding him a “fake man of God” and even going as far as calling him an “armed robber in cassock” have crossed a dangerous line. “I have kept quiet for too long,” Duncan-Williams declared from the pulpit. “But when the anointing is mocked and the altar is defiled, there must be a response.”

He didn’t mince words as he turned his attention to the NPP leadership. “Justin Kodua, you are the general secretary of a party that claims to uphold discipline. If you allow this kind of reckless behavior to go unchecked, then you are complicit,” he thundered. “I will not hesitate to take this matter to the highest court—both spiritual and legal.”

The archbishop’s remarks come at a time when the NPP is already grappling with internal tensions. Just last week, the party’s disciplinary committee summoned Abronye over what it described as “unguarded public comments.” While the specifics of those comments were not disclosed, insiders suggest that his attacks on prominent figures, including religious leaders, have become a growing concern.

Duncan-Williams, known for his measured tone and spiritual authority, made it clear that this was not a personal vendetta but a defense of the sanctity of the church. “This is not about me. This is about protecting the integrity of the pulpit. If we allow politicians to insult men of God with impunity, what message are we sending to the nation?”

He ended his sermon with a chilling declaration: “Let this be the last time. If there is no apology and no action, I will take steps. And when I do, even the gates of hell will not prevail.”

As the congregation erupted in applause, it became clear that this was more than a Sunday sermon—it was a spiritual summons to accountability. Whether the NPP leadership will heed the call remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the battle lines between the sacred and the political have been drawn.
