Joyful scenes welcome Bawumia as he finishes his tour of the Bono Region in Sunyani

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia concluded his campaign tour in the Bono Region on a positive note, receiving a thrilling welcome during the final part of his visit in Sunyani on Friday.

Throughout the last four days, Dr. Bawumia has been actively interacting with NPP members at various levels throughout the region.

The enthusiastic reception he received on the concluding day in Berekum East and the two Sunyani constituencies, East and West, mirrored the support he experienced in the previous nine constituencies he visited: Banda, Tain, Wenchi, Jaman North, Jaman South, Berekum West, Dormaa East, Dormaa West, and Dormaa Central, respectively.

In each area, party leaders, from constituency executives to polling station officials, warmly welcomed the former vice president and expressed their steadfast backing.

They praised his dedicated service to the NPP since becoming a running mate in 2008, his influential work as vice president, and his ongoing support for the party and its members nationwide.

Numerous members highlighted his personal qualities, emphasizing his humility, selflessness, and respect for everyone as essential traits that the NPP and Ghana need in a leader, which is why they continue to support him.

During the tour, Dr. Bawumia discussed his intention to address the neglect of party members by a future NPP administration through the implementation of a sustainable welfare policy focused on the needs of party members throughout the constituencies.

Dr. Bawumia began by stating that a database would be established to track the requirements of members in each constituency, and a presidential coordinator would be designated to work with constituency welfare coordinators to ensure that concerns are consistently managed through this database.

“Different individuals have varying needs. Some require loans to launch businesses, others need funds to enhance their operations, some seek educational scholarships, some are looking for jobs, while others need farming tools and supplies, etc. You cannot meet people’s needs without understanding them, so the database will help us identify all the issues in every constituency, and we can also track who has received assistance and who still needs help,” Dr. Bawumia elaborated.

This welfare initiative, along with Bawumia’s proposal to allocate at least 10 appointments to every constituency, has been positively received by party members in the region.

“His initiative to set up a database clearly demonstrates his dedication and commitment to ensuring that none of us is overlooked, which I greatly value,” remarked a delegate from Berekum.

All in all, Bawumia’s tour has been remarkably successful, and appropriately, the highlight came in the regional capital, Sunyani, where he was warmly celebrated during the final event.
