The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has refuted speculation claiming that he has assumed the duties of the party’s National Chairman, Stephen Ntim.
During an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, June 18, Mr. Kodua made it clear that Mr. Ntim is still the officially elected Chairman and is actively fulfilling his obligations.
“I have not usurped his position. Stephen Ntim is our National Chairman, and he is continuing to lead us in that role,” he stated.
His remarks came in response to rumors among some political analysts and party members that he might be wielding influence that surpasses his official position, possibly eclipsing the Chairman.
Nonetheless, Mr. Kodua categorically denied those assertions, emphasizing that the party’s leadership hierarchy is solid and that there is no internal conflict for power.
“There is no disarray. We are all collaborating for the benefit of the party,” he confirmed, reinforcing his dedication to harmony and collaboration within the NPP.
Additionally, he highlighted that he and Mr. Ntim are collaborating closely to promote the party’s objectives in anticipation of the 2024 general elections.
