NDC ends Peace FM boycott after five years

The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has declared that the party will be rejoining Peace FM’s prominent morning program, Kokrokoo, after an extended period of abstention.

In a conversation with Peace FM on June 20, 2025, Asiedu Nketiah disclosed that the choice to come back stemmed from multiple talks between NDC officials and Despite Media management.

He highlighted that the party has addressed its previous grievances with the station and is prepared to take part in the show again.

“Prior to the elections, we had frequent meetings. It’s well-known that the NDC had concerns regarding the Kokrokoo program, and the leadership of both the NDC and Peace FM engaged in numerous discussions about it,” he remarked.

“Ultimately, we reached a consensus that the previous circumstances should be restored. We want to inform the public that the situation has been rectified. Now, you are aware of our expectations, and we also acknowledge your needs. We will provide our representatives for the show, but we kindly ask that you refrain from selecting them for us. If there are any issues with our guests, please bring them to our attention.”

He also called on the management of the station to promote equity among the panelists and to keep lines of communication open with the party in the future.

“You have your guidelines, and we appreciate that. Should any concerns arise, please reach out to us, so we can maintain a positive relationship,” he continued.

It should be remembered that the NDC, via its National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, declared a boycott of Kokrokoo on May 6, 2020.

This decision was made following accusations of ongoing bias against the party on the show.
