Lawyer Kwesi Botchway Jnr, a legal practitioner associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has provided details of the alleged ordeal of the party’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
According to him, the police have denied all family members, including Abronye’s wife, access to him since his arrest.
He further alleged that Abronye has not eaten while in custody since Monday, September 8, 2025.
Providing an update on the case in a Facebook post on September 10, 2025, Botchway wrote, “Update on Abronye: His wife, family, and lawyer have been denied access to him. Since yesterday, they have not seen him. Contrary to the court’s ruling, it is believed that he is not being kept in police custody but at the NIB. Information reaching me is that he has not eaten since Monday morning. His family and lawyers are deeply concerned about his health and safety.
“To the investigator, Mr Seth Sewornu, kindly know that power is transient and if power changes, you may be treated as a politician! You did it to Sir Obama, now you’re doing it to Abronye. It is just a matter of time…”
Meanwhile, Kwame Baffoe Abronye has been remanded into police custody by the Accra Circuit Court. The court denied him bail, and he is expected to reappear on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Abronye was arrested by the Ghana Police Service for what it described as “offensive conduct.”
