The Office of the Special Prosecutor has taken Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, past Commissioner-General of the GRA; Isaac Crentsil, previous Commissioner of Customs and currently General Manager at SML; along with Christian Tetteh Sottie, who was formerly a Technical Advisor and is now the MD/CEO of SML, into custody.
These arrests are associated with current inquiries into alleged corruption and offenses linked to contracts established between the GRA and SML for services related to revenue assurance.
The investigation also seeks to confirm SML’s assertions that its services have resulted in substantial savings for the country.
Owusu-Amoah, Crentsil, and Sottie were apprehended last evening after not fulfilling the requirements for bail.
