Prophetess warns politicians against taking percentages from road contractors

The General Overseer of Grace Divine and Healing Ministry International, Prophetess Grace Owusu Affenyi, has cautioned politicians in the Ekumfi District to desist from taking percentages or kickbacks from road contractors, warning that such practices lead to poor-quality road construction.

Speaking at the church’s annual convention, Prophetess Grace described the act as “morally wrong and destructive,” noting that corruption in the award of road contracts often results in shoddy workmanship and roads that deteriorate quickly.

She appealed to the government to prioritise the rehabilitation of roads in the Ekumfi District, especially the stretch from Ekumfi Essuaohyia to Ekumfi Adansi, which she said had become nearly impassable.

“Many contractors deliver poor-quality work because politicians demand a share from their contract funds,” she said, urging authorities to end such practices to ensure value for money in public projects.

The prophetess further called for unity among Ghanaians, especially among political leaders and public servants, to promote accountability and effective service delivery.

At the same event, Dasebre Kwebu Ewusi VIII, Paramount Chief of Abeadze Dominase, appealed to church members and well-wishers to support the ministry through donations, saying the church faces several challenges and needs help to continue its spiritual and community work.

Meanwhile, Hon. Otheniel Ekow Quainoo, Member of Parliament for Ekumfi Constituency, told GHOne News’ Yaw Boagyan that he will collaborate with the District Assembly to construct a modern toilet facility for the Ekumfi Adansi community, which currently lacks one.

He also called for a thorough investigation into the National Cathedral project, citing growing public concern over allegations of financial mismanagement and losses to the state.
