Seven reported dead in gory accident on Nkawkaw–Accra road

Seven individuals lost their lives in a heartbreaking incident at Nkawada No. 2 on the Nkawkaw–Accra road after a Sprinter bus collided front-on with a trailer.

An observer, Kwame Agyemang, informed Adom News that the event took place at approximately 1:47 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26.

The Sprinter buswhich had the registration AW 4619-14, was traveling from Somanya in the Eastern Region towards Kumasi.

It crashed into a vehicle with registration GN 114-21, which was making its way from Kumasi to Accraunder conditions that are still being investigated.

The driver and assistant of the truck escaped injury; however, they have been detained to aid in the inquiry.

Agyemang stated that the truck driver mentioned he did not realize it was raining when the accident occurred.

Among the deceased were a mother and her child, whose remains were severely mangled, while others sustained serious injuries.

The injured parties were quickly transported to Enyiresi Government Hospital and Kenop Hospital located in Nkawkaw for treatment.

Initial reports indicate that the truck driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel.
