Counsel for Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, has revealed that the court dismissed their application to recognise an ordinance marriage, primarily because the marriage certificate presented was deemed inauthentic.
According to lawyer William Kusi, the certificate, submitted as proof of a valid marriage, failed to meet basic legal standards.
The court noted missing signatures and other irregularities, which rendered the document unreliable. He explained that the court ruled the document was an extract, not the original certificate, further weakening their claim.
However, Kusi insisted that the certificate is authentic under German law.
The court also invalidated photographic evidence of Akosua Serwaa and Daddy Lumba’s marriage, citing the possibility of technological manipulation.
