Remember me in prayers – Agradaa pleads as she announces new name

The founder and leader of Heaven’s Way Church has announced a change of name from Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Agradaa, to Prophetess Josephine Asiamah.
The incarcerated former fetish priestess, who later converted to Christianity, disclosed the change in a letter to her congregation. The letter was read on her behalf by her husband, Angel Asiamah, after Sunday’s service.
According to him, the new name signifies a renewed identity and a fresh spiritual beginning, marking her complete departure from her past and embracing a deeper walk with God.
He explained that the name “Josephine” was inspired by the biblical character Joseph, who remained faithful to God despite imprisonment. He said Agradaa, now Josephine, believes she is walking a similar path—spreading the word of God and interpreting dreams for fellow inmates.
“After adopting the name Josephine, she is also doing the work Joseph did while in prison, which is spreading the word of God and interpreting dreams to inmates. If biblical men changed their names after trials and rebirth, she ought to do same,” he said.
Through her husband, she also encouraged her followers to continue praying for her, expressing confidence that every challenge standing as a “Goliath” in her case would eventually fall. She maintains faith that, in due time, she will receive divine vindication.
