Founder of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Dr Charles Agyinasare, has disclosed that he was involved in a pregnancy that ended in abortion when he was just 14 years old.
Speaking in an interview with Bola Ray, monitored by GhanaWeb on April 17, 2026, the Archbishop reflected on what he described as a troubled youth before he entered ministry.
He said the experience remains one of the defining moments of his early life.
According to him, the pregnancy involved a girl who was about 16 years old at the time.
“I had my first abortion at the age of 14 with a girl who was about 16 years old. There were several girls in my life. In fact, the girl who later led me to church was someone I was pursuing, and I was also interested in her senior sister. She told me her boyfriend was Jesus Christ, “ he said.
Archbishop Agyinasare said he lived a reckless lifestyle in his younger years, marked by substance use, violence and multiple relationships. He explained that those experiences shaped his later decision to embrace Christianity and pursue a life of faith.

The renowned preacher noted that his journey changed after attending church for the first time while pursuing a young woman he was interested in. He recalled that during that service, he responded to an altar call and repented.
“So, I followed her to church. That day, I remember I was high on marijuana. I sat at the back, waiting for the service to end so I could take the girl along. But for the first time in my life, there was an altar call for those who wanted to receive Jesus and repent of their sins,” he added.
