Odira Nwobu, a Nigerian actor and content creator, has died in South Africa.
The announcement of his passing was made on Facebook by Stan Ekwe on Monday. He expressed, “I can’t bring myself to accept that ODIRA NWOBU is gone. I spoke with his manager who confirmed it, and he assured me that the earlier incident was not a joke. I am at a loss for words and still find it hard to accept. A heart attack at such a young age?
While Ekwe did not elaborate on the details surrounding Nwobu’s reported death, it has been reported that he allegedly died just hours after a night out at a club in South Africa over the weekend.
Emeka Rollas, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), also confirmed the news, stating that Odira was in South Africa with eight other influencers for work when he unexpectedly passed away on Monday, November 24.
Rollas mentioned that they are waiting for an autopsy to clarify the cause of death.
Months prior, there were reports about Nwobu being in a serious car accident, with a viral video documenting bystanders rescuing individuals from the wreckage.
As of the time of this report, there has not been any official comment from Nwobu’s family concerning his passing.
