2028 Election: ‘I will support whoever Mahama tells me to support’ – A Plus

Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has reiterated his position ahead of Ghana’s 2028 presidential election, stating that his political support will be guided by President John Mahama’s endorsement.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb’s Elsie Lamar on who he would like to succeed President Mahama, A Plus said his backing would go to anyone Mahama endorses.

“If I ever have to support anybody to become the next president of Ghana after John Mahama, it has to be that I support this person because John Mahama told me that we should support this person,” he said.

“Whoever I support for president of Ghana is because President Mahama has told me that all of us should support this person. The only person that I will support is who he says we should support,” he stressed, noting that his allegiance is tied directly to Mahama’s direction.

Explaining further, A Plus pointed to President Mahama’s experience and understanding of Ghana’s political landscape.

“I’m saying if I ever support somebody, it should be somebody Mahama says we should support because he knows his people. He knows who is going to continue the good work that he’s doing,” he added.
